The southernmost city in the continental United States was originally known as the primary base of operation against pirates many years ago. Today you can visit historic Fort Jefferson, the largest brick building in the Western Hemisphere, and the Dry Tortugas National Park. The Key West Shipwreck Historeum recreates the wreck and salvage of artifacts from ships long since past.
